Session Timer & Performance Journal
A desktop app that runs beside your work — tracking time, prompting check-ins, and building a journal you can reflect on. All local Markdown files. Nothing leaves your machine.
01 — Start a session
Define what you're going after and what to watch out for. Start the timer and work. Chronicle counts up with color thresholds you set — green, yellow, red — so you always know where you stand.
Take notes as you go. They're autosaved to a Markdown file alongside your check-ins, goals, and summary.
02 — Check in along the way
Chronicle prompts you at your own cadence — every 25 minutes, every 45, whatever works. You define the metrics: focus, energy, mood, clarity, or anything else.
Each check-in is a quick pulse. The numbers tell you how. The notes tell you why. Over time, you see what affects your performance and what doesn't.
03 — See the patterns
Browse your full history. See averages across metrics, total hours, and how things change over time. Filter by date, duration, or scores.
Session 1 is a note to yourself. Session 50 is a dataset. The more you run, the clearer the picture gets.
04 — Reflect on the bigger picture
Had a good week? A rough one? Open Reflect, see your sessions side by side, and write about it. Daily, weekly, monthly — whatever scope makes sense.
Your sessions tell you what happened. Reflect is where you figure out what it means.
Built for the long game
Session 1 is a note to yourself. Session 50 reveals patterns. Session 200 with weekly reviews is a body of work you can learn from. Chronicle is designed to get more useful the longer you use it.
