Chronicle is a local-first app. Your notes and session data never leave your device.
What we collect
When you start a trial or activate a license, we collect:
- A machine identifier — a hashed ID generated from your hardware, not personally identifiable
- Your email address — optional, only if you provide it at trial start, used to notify you about updates
- Your license key, if applicable
- Trial start date and expiry
This data is sent to a server solely to manage your trial or license status.
What we do not collect
- Your name or any personal information beyond the optional email
- Your notes, session data, or any files
- Usage analytics or telemetry of any kind
Purchase data
If you purchase Chronicle, your payment is processed by a third-party payment provider. They collect your name, email, and payment details. We receive only your license key.
Data retention
Trial and license records are stored for as long as your license is active. To have your data removed, email [email protected].
